Top Tips for Using Our Rental Bikes
Do’s
- Secure the bike to a solid object when it’s not in use. Sign posts and metal railings in open spaces (visible to the public eye) are best.
- Control your bike at all times; be responsible, ride within your limits, and remember safety first!
- Return the bike on-time and in the same condition. Call us if you’re having problems or you’re running late.
Don’ts
- Do not leave the bike in a public place at night, locked or unlocked. It’s simply not safe!
- Strictly no bikes on beaches (or in saltwater). Sand can damage the bike.
- Do not make adjustments or repairs to the bike without prior consent. See Repairs & Adjustments below.
Our Rental Terms & Conditions can be found here.

- Shock absorber air pressure, rebound damping or spring tension (preload adjustment).
- Handlebar height, tilt and rotation.

The key points to remember:
- Other factors that can affect saddle height include: type of bike, the terrain, rider physique/flexibility, and personal preference.
- Pedal with both heels on the pedals and being able to pedal without your pelvis rocking from side to side.
- Putting the heel of your foot on the pedal and adjusting the height of the saddle until your leg is locked out.
- CAUTION: Never adjust the seat post beyond the maximum mark Always allow for at least 100mm of seat post in the tube.
How To: Set the Tyre Pressure
Inflating your tyres to an optimal pressure will guarantee you a safer and more comfortable ride. Tyre pressure is measured in PSI (pounds per square inch) or Bar (atmospheric pressure).

Key points to remember:
- General rule: The narrower the tyre width, the more pressure it needs.
- Inflate your tyres to within the minimum and maximum recommended pressures. These are normally printed on the side of the tyre.
- Mountain bikes 25-35 psi
- Trekking bikes 40-70 psi
- Road bike 80-130 psi

Things to remember:
- Battery keys are provided for rental periods > 1 day. And we recommend charging the battery on the bike where possible.
- A fully charged e-bike battery has between 70-90km of autonomy depending on which mode is used. See Bosch eBike Range Calculator.
- Batteries can be charged on or off the bike and take approximately 3-5 hours to reach full charge.
- The digital display is not waterproof. In the event of rain, you should cover the panel with a plastic bag or take shelter out of the rain.
